Life After School Program

What is Life After School?
The Life After School Program provides an essential introduction to, however not limited to, superannuation, taxation, study options, how to change a tyre, and the experience of being financially independent. It is imperative that young people acquire knowledge of this information, thereby equipping them for future life experiences that lie beyond the walls of the educational institution. The program allows young people to develop in-depth knowledge of post-school expectations while receiving continuous support throughout the years after graduating. The program assists young people from the ages of 15 to 25.
Through this program, we work with local schools, youth groups, sporting groups and many more.
Program benefits and outcomes:
-
Improve young peoples readiness for life after school through practical skills development.
-
Increase awareness of career pathways and opportunities.
-
Increasing resilience and financial independence.
-
Supporting young people with tools to succeed in adulthood.
-
Enhance community involvement and support for youth development.
-
Measurable growth in young people’s confidence, problem-solving abilities and communication skills.

Through this program, we do not expect immediate results; however, we are confident that meaningful progress will emerge over time. Our goals include boosting regional employment, reducing financial stress and hardship and empowering young people with the skills and confidence to take control of their futures. By increasing awareness of essential life skills, we aim to spark conversations that will resonate across generations.

How does it work?

The Life After School Program is designed to seamlessly work into school settings, youth groups and within the community, addressing the specific needs of students as they prepare to transition into adulthood. The program is tailored to fit the unique requirements of each school, group, or community, ensuring it aligns with existing goals and community priorities. Firstly we survey the group to ensure that we deliver a program with topics they want to learn about.
We work closely with school administrators, teachers, and community partners to understand the specific challenges and aspirations of their young people. This collaborative planning phase allows us to customise the program to focus on key areas such as:
-
Financial Literacy (budgeting, savings, understanding loans)
-
Career Pathways (job exploration, apprenticeships, resume building)
-
Personal Development (communication skills, time management, leadership)
-
Life Skills (how to change a tyre, how to lodge a tax return, superannuation, renting vs. buying)

The program is delivered in flexible modules that can be integrated into existing class schedules, after-school programs, or as standalone workshops. Sessions are led by trained facilitators and often include guest speakers from local businesses and community leaders who share real-world experiences.
Delivery options include:
-
In-Class Workshops: Integrated directly into the school curriculum as part of life skills or career education classes.
-
After-School Programs: Extended learning opportunities for students who want hands-on experience and personalised mentoring.
-
Community Events and Career Fairs: Opportunities to engage with local employers, apprenticeship programs and career mentors.
